Parking on campus

Should I bring my car to university? What about parking?

Background

Parking on campus is limited and is first come first served. This means you may not always be able to find a space.

If you need a car for reasons relating to autism or other conditions, you can apply for a disabled parking badge which may give you more availability to park.

How could this affect me?

Parking on campus for everyone – staff and students. We recognise autistic students may have more need to park than others. If you do, we would recommend applying for a disabled parking badge via the Swansea University Website  https://www.swansea.ac.uk/sustainability/travel/by-car/

You will need to provide evidence for the need for parking such as a blue badge or a letter from your GP.

Practical tips

If you need a space relating to autism or other conditions we recommend arriving early when the campus is quiet. Even if you have been granted a disabled parking badge, unfortunately, we still cannot guarantee space for all students.

You could consider other options, such as public transport.

Did you know Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) can help fund public transport such as taxis if necessary? Please speak to your needs assessor or our ASC team about this for more information.
